What we're looking for:
Registered Pharmacy Technician (or nearing registration / qualification).
Passionate about patient care and medicines optimisation.
Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and keen to develop.
Excellent communication skills and a team player.
Previous hospital experience is desirable but not essential – we value potential and attitude highly.
What you'll be doing:
You will play a vital role in improving the experience and safety of cancer patients by delivering high-quality, ward-based medicines optimisation services. You’ll work closely with specialist pharmacists, Macmillan Medicines Management Technicians, doctors, nurses, and the wider MDT across inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, and day case units at BHOC and the Bristol Royal Infirmary. This will include:
Deliver ward-based medicines optimisation for cancer patients (inpatients, outpatients & day cases).
Carry out medicines reconciliation, patient counselling, and medicine supply.
Identify and resolve medication-related issues within the multi-disciplinary team.
Provide a high-standard ward-based dispensing and counselling service.
Support the dispensary team with accurate dispensing, accuracy checking, and preparation of medicines (including controlled drugs).
Help shape and develop patient-focused pharmacy services within cancer care.
