Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Legal AI Technology & Prompt Engineering

Design, build, test and maintain a certified library of Legal AI prompts and benchmarking/testing process, ensuring each prompt is validated for accuracy, legal soundness and fitness for purpose before publication.

Identify high-quality, low risk prompts suitable for release to the wider business, enabling self-service review of more straightforward contracts and legal documents, thereby reducing demand on the legal team.
Process Improvement & Operational Efficiency

Identify, design and implement process improvements that increase the efficiency, quality and speed of legal services delivery.

Develop, maintain and govern a suite of legal and contracting templates, ensuring they are legally robust, commercially current and accessible to both lawyers and business users.

Data, Reporting & KPIs
-
Design and build management information reports and interactive dashboards that provide clear KPIs on legal team performance, workload, cycle times, cost and risk.

Develop and maintain data models and reporting infrastructure, leveraging available technology platforms such as matter management systems, contract lifecycle management tools and AI platforms.
Technology-Enabled Transformation & Change Management

Lead and support change initiatives within the legal team, with a particular focus on technology adoption, process redesign and capability building.

Develop high-quality, persuasive business cases for investment in legal technology and operational improvements, including robust financial modelling, risk assessment and benefits articulation.

Manage stakeholder engagement and communications through transformation programmes, ensuring lawyers, business partners and leadership are informed, consulted and supportive.

Design and deliver training programmes to support technology adoption and process change, tailoring content and delivery methods to diverse audiences including legally trained professionals and business users.

Apply structured change management methodologies to embed new ways of working and sustain improvements over time.

Support benefits realisation activities, tracking the outcomes of change initiatives against business case projections and reporting progress to senior stakeholders.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

Build strong, trust-based relationships with lawyers, paralegal and legal operations colleagues, acting as a valued partner who understands the pressures and priorities of a legal team.

Engage proactively with business stakeholders across functions such as finance, cybersecurity, HR and Technology, representing the legal team and translating business needs into operational solutions.

Contribute to the broader legal operations community, sharing knowledge, best practice and insights internally and, where appropriate, externally.
Connect to your skills and professional experience
Legal Knowledge & Understanding
-
You’ll bring good understanding of the role and responsibilities of large corporate in-house legal teams, including how legal advice is structured, delivered and risk managed.
-
Familiarity with common legal practice areas relevant to a legal team, specifically in commercial and IT law to evaluate the accuracy of the outputs of legal prompting. Appreciation of the ethical and professional obligations of lawyers, including confidentiality, privilege and conduct requirements, and the implications of these for AI tool design and data handling.

Ability to engage credibly with legally trained professionals, understanding their language, workflows, concerns and priorities without necessarily holding a legal qualification.

Understanding of legal risk management frameworks and how operational improvements can help manage and reduce legal risk across an organisation.
Legal AI Expertise & Prompt Engineering
-
Strong working knowledge of Legal AI platforms, with hands-on experience of tools such as Legora AI, Harvey, CoCounsel, Spellbook or equivalent.

Demonstrable prompt engineering skills, including the ability to construct, iterate and optimise prompts for complex legal tasks such as contract analysis, risk identification, clause drafting and regulatory research.
Project & Programme Management

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams, priorities and deadlines without compromising quality.

Experience of managing projects end-to-end, from scoping and planning through execution, testing, deployment and post-implementation review.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality documentation, reports, business cases and training materials.

Ability to communicate complex technical and operational concepts clearly to diverse audiences, including senior leaders, lawyers and non-technical business users.
Critical Thinking & Problem Solving

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to break down complex problems, evaluate options objectively and identify pragmatic, high-impact solutions.

Intellectually curious and self-directed, with a habit of questioning assumptions, seeking evidence and considering second-order effects before drawing conclusions.
