This is a fixed-term contract (12 months) supporting the delivery of accurate management accounts, overhead control, and commercial financial analysis within our Bristol team. The role is hybrid with 3 days in the office and 2 from home, with flexible starting times between 7am and 10am within a 39-hour week. There is potential for the role to become permanent, depending on business needs at the end of the term.

What you’ll do:

Manage month-end close for overhead accounts, including accruals, prepayments, journals, and reconciliations.
Prepare overhead reports and provide commentary to help budget holders understand and manage their costs.
Support commercial reporting through margin analysis, pricing reports, and variance analysis.
Work with budget holders to prepare annual overhead budgets and rolling forecasts.
Build the budget for 2027, tracking spend against plan and highlighting key variances.
Act as a finance partner to non-finance colleagues across the business, helping them understand their financial performance.
Support improvements to overhead accounting processes and contribute to finance transformation projects where applicable.

What you’ll bring:

Experience with overheads, month-end close, and overhead reporting.
Experience with variance analysis for commercial purposes.
The ability to work independently.
A natural curiosity for data.

Desirable:

A manufacturing or previous contracting experience background.
Studying towards or holding an accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
