Full job description

Role Overview

The Fire Barrier and Insulation Fixer is responsible for the safe and correct installation of insulation systems and fire barriers in accordance with project drawings, manufacturer specifications, and site quality requirements. Works may include cavity wall insulation, fire barriers, rigid board insulation and associated components on residential and commercial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

Install insulation boards, cavity barriers and associated systems in line with drawings and specifications
Ensure insulation is fitted securely, accurately and without gaps or damage
Maintain compliance with manufacturer installation requirements and fire stopping details
Work safely from scaffolding, podiums or access equipment where required
Carry out daily checks of materials, tools and work areas
Maintain good housekeeping standards and keep work areas clean and organised
Report defects, missing materials or site issues to supervision promptly
Work closely with bricklayers, façade teams and site management to maintain programme
Follow all RAMS, health and safety procedures and site rules at all times

Requirements

Previous experience installing insulation systems within construction projects
CSCS card (relevant trade/occupation)
Understanding of cavity wall construction and fire barrier installation
Ability to read drawings and follow installation details
Good awareness of health and safety requirements
Ability to work as part of a team and maintain quality standards

Desirable

Experience with SFS, brick slip or façade systems
Knowledge of passive fire protection requirements

Reporting To

Site Supervisor / Site Manager / Construction Manager

All operatives are expected to work professionally, maintain high standards of workmanship, and contribute positively to site safety, quality and programme delivery.

Pay: From £160.00 per day
