We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Chemistry/Sample Technician.
This is an entry level role. You will receive full training on how to provide a technical service to our factory and customers by organising samples from all points during manufacture, in line with business needs, customer requirements and industry standards. To test chemistry samples and report findings, to calibrate factory testing & measuring equipment, to complete environmental monitoring & swabbing to schedule.
This will enable you to demonstrate a commitment to Framptons’ Food Safety and Quality policies, procedures and work instructions to produce safe, legal and authentic products to a specified quality.
Hours of work:
40 hours per week as agreed with your Line Manager, plus a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.
A degree of flexibility will be required, to support the needs of the business, this also includes working on a weekend rota ( weekend rota is 1 in 3 weekends working on a Saturday and day off in the week). You will be required to work Bank holidays on a rota system.
The company reserves the right to alter working hours as necessary.
You are required to work such hours as are necessary to complete your duties.
This is a day based role.
Start rate - £27,976.00 per annum – monthly paid.
Job Summary:

Demonstrate a commitment to Framptons’ Food Safety and Quality policies, procedures and work instructions to produce safe, legal and authentic products to a specified quality.
Responsibilities:
To ensure factory samples are collected and sent out to external laboratory according to set criteria within time frames that meet production demands.
To ensure all chemistry and physical checks are carried out according to the legal and customer requirements and results show compliance with agreed standards, arranging external chemistry where required.
To calibrate daily all factory testing equipment in line with calibration schedules – resolving issues with faulty / out-of-tolerance equipment (eg: pH meters/Lactolysers, Refractometers).
Complete monthly balance & equipment calibration.
Complete Fridge temperature checks.
Complete weekly temperature checks on hand wash sinks & raise any non-conformances.
Complete factory swabbing, taking water samples with follow ups to any OOS results
To provide a technical service to the factory at all levels to ensure product safety, legality and quality are maximised.
To carry out ad hoc tasks as required and identified by the Laboratory Manager, Compliance Manager or Technical Manager.
Support the implementation of the health & safety policies and procedures within the business.
Work with the safety lead to meet all safety requirements and legal compliance.
Effectively control health & safety risks within your designated work areas and teams.
Knowledge & Experience:
Knowledge of food manufacturing systems.
Experience of building relationships with both factory staff and site management personnel.
Basic computer literacy skills – able to produce simple reports.
