In recent years the business has been undergoing an accelerating series of transformative changes including investment in new management structures and processes, new facilities and plant, a new ERP system and a torrent of new products: the business is now capitalising on this on-going investment programme and is achieving substantial rates of growth.
The Position / Role
Responsible for the day-to-day distribution and fulfilment of work to the Component Stores and managing staff to support this. Additionally supporting and identifying improvements to process and infrastructure as part of the wider supervisory team and continual improvement. Human resource management and distribution, performance monitoring and managing of staff and optimising efficiencies and throughput of the Component Stores workforce via effective workload management and communication. Willing to undertake any project as deemed necessary to achieve operational requirements, efficiencies, and improvements.
Responsibilities:
Supervisor will be responsible for: -
- Component Stores work distribution and management (Daily)
- Allocating and prioritising work in line with staff capabilities, the production plan and good material control practices.
- Proactively managing resources to support ‘Rapid Response’ service including restocking and minimal disruption.
- Effective communication and solutions for issue resolution and mitigation.
- Ensure labour and material transactions are executed correctly on ERP.
- Coordinate training amongst the work schedules.
- Staff and department management and development (Management)
- To provide supervision, support, guidance, and empowerment to Component Stores staff.
- Ensure good housekeeping and consistent practices throughout the department.
- Management and delivery of department targets.
- Employee performance reviews for and maintenance of the Staff Skills Matrices.
- Active part of the team with some understanding of the product and processes.
- Identifying personal progression plans and limitations in line with departmental requirements.
- Co-ordinating with Support Engineers and Materials Manager should any external training be required or asked for as part of personnel development.
- Managing and controlling overtime.
- Resource Capability management (Abstract)
- Managing, controlling, and coordinating overtime.
- Understand upcoming work and ensure the appropriate competencies are provided.
- Management of the Training Matrix to manage available competencies on the department.
- Working closely with Support Engineers to pre-empt capability limitations that could influence the work schedules.
- General Responsibilities
- Upholding company policies for Health and Safety and ensuring Assembly representation at the H&S committee forum.
- Support and contribute to Continual Improvement initiatives.
- Promote and optimise product and process quality throughout the department.
- Understand, support and ensure compliance to engineered processes including implementing changes to work instructions and concessions. With the support of Support Engineers.

- Supervisory Management qualification desirable but training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Proven experience and competency in a supervisory / managerial position.
Pay: £30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
