Job description

Starting September 1st 2026 and temporary until the 31st August 2027

The Governing body of Coed Hirwaun Primary School seek to appoint a suitably qualified, caring and committed individual to the fill the vacancy of a Level 4 Teaching Assistant, helping to support and deliver learning to pupils. The post is based at Coed Hirwaun Primary School.

Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities for an ALN/Nurture provision within the school.
Monitor pupils’ engagement and learning, providing appropriate support to ensure positive outcomes.
Assess, record and report on pupils’ achievement, progress and development in line with school procedures.
Promote pupils’ social, emotional and educational development, maintaining high expectations at all times.
Take responsibility for the management and development of a designated specialist area within the school.
Lead, support and manage other teaching assistants, including allocation and monitoring of work.
Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to support teaching, learning and inclusion.

The successful candidate must be qualified to at least NVQ Level 5 qualification, HLTA or equivalent in Childcare
