Invoicing Team Assistant:

This is a hybrid role in our Invoicing Team.
The team perform a role that is a mixture of auditing and supporting. They make sure all fees and costs are correctly charged to clients and recovered, that invoices and financial statements are accurate, and that the firm does not lose money through errors or oversights. They support the whole department and review every matter.
It involves working as part of a friendly team who support a friendly, modern, and rapidly growing property law firm with over two hundred staff.
This is a hybrid role. You will typically work two days a week in our comfortable and modern office, with the remainder from home. Office attendance may be increased in some circumstances.
The successful candidate will be fully trained on all aspects of the job.

Responsibilities:

Reviewing financial statements to make sure they are correct and that all fees and costs – before and after completion – have been charged and recovered.
Overseeing the creation and amendment of invoices.
Supporting and training fee earners so they are less likely to make errors in financial statements and the financial management of matters.
Preparing financial statements.
Entering and maintaining data across various systems and workbooks.
Monitoring a shared mailbox and resolving queries from fee earners about invoices, charges, and financial statements.
Keeping our records of fees and costs accurate and our database tidy.
Identifying and removing duplicate or erroneous charges.
Reconciling our spend with key suppliers and checking that suppliers have not overcharged us.

This list is not exhaustive. The role may be varied to another assistant role depending on the needs of the department.

Your Skills and Experience

We are looking for a local candidate who has at least one of the following:

has worked for one year or more in a financial or accounting role
mathematics / finance / economics / technology a-level experience
university degree involving numeracy

We will consider candidates who do not meet these criteria, but who demonstrably has the raw skills and qualities needed for the job. The ideal candidate will have some experience in a law firm or profession. However, we are considering staff from non-legal or professional backgrounds.

As well as the above, the ideal candidate:

is highly computer literate
is calm and clear headed
can work with a high degree of accuracy and reliability
can work under pressure
can keep to deadlines
has a strong work ethic
is a team player and capable of always working in a professional manner

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £30,000.00-£32,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

London E1 6DB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
