Team Manager – Tenancy Rights Advice & Enforcement (PO5) – Housing
Hours: 35 Hours Per Week, Mon – Fri (minimum 2 days office-based)
Contract: 52 Week Temporary Contract (until March 2027)
We're recruiting a Team Manager to lead Lambeth's new Tenancy Rights, Advice & Enforcement Team. This is a key leadership role, ideal for someone with strong knowledge of tenancy law, proven supervisory experience, and a passion for protecting tenants' rights in the private rented sector.
About the Role
As Team Manager, you'll oversee a dedicated team of 4 officers delivering specialist support and enforcement under the new Renters' Rights Act (RRA). You'll provide strategic leadership, technical expertise, and operational oversight to ensure unlawful eviction and harassment cases are investigated and enforced lawfully, proportionately, and consistently.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading tenancy enforcement – managing casework and investigations into unlawful eviction and harassment
- Providing strategic leadership – building a high-performing team delivering advice and enforcement
- Ensuring compliance – overseeing evidence collection, enforcement actions, and partnership with Legal for prosecutions or civil penalties
- Supporting homelessness prevention – working closely with Homelessness Prevention, ASC, CSC, Health, VAWG services, and voluntary sector partners
- Driving service improvements – developing operational policy and maintaining high-quality standards
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone proactive, resident-centred, and confident in leading complex casework.
You'll ideally have:
- Strong knowledge of tenancy law, unlawful eviction, harassment, and investigatory frameworks
- Experience managing or supervising casework in a statutory or regulatory context
- Ability to lead service improvements and develop operational policy
- Excellent leadership, communication, and partnership-working skills
- A trauma-informed approach to working with residents
