The Old Savoy Theatre in Northampton is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Social Media Content Creator to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on generating fresh ideas, creating engaging digital content and helping audiences connect with one of Northampton’s most treasured entertainment venues.
About the Role
Working closely with the theatre team, you will be responsible for planning, creating and delivering engaging content across our social media channels. You will promote upcoming productions and events, and help grow and engage our online community.
Key Responsibilities
- Create high-quality content for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube (shorts).
- Film and edit video content (using Canva, CapCut or Adobe Premiere).
- Develop and maintain a content calendar to support the theatre’s programming and campaigns.
- You may be required on occasion to attend auditions, rehearsals, performances and events to capture engaging content.
- Write compelling captions and promotional copy.
- Monitor trends and identify creative opportunities to increase audience engagement.
- Analyse social media performance and provide regular insights and recommendations.
- Work collaboratively with staff, visiting production companies and performers to tell the theatre’s stories.
- Assist with wider marketing initiatives as required.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about theatre, arts and live entertainment.
- Experienced in creating content for social media platforms for an organisation (minimum of 2 years experience).
- A portfolio of assets showcasing your editing and content creation skills.
- Skilled in video filming and editing using mobile and desktop editing tools.
- Creative, proactive and full of ideas.
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Confident communicating with a wide range of people.
- Familiar with social media analytics and best practice.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Previous experience in a theatre, arts organisation or entertainment setting would be advantageous but is not essential.
Hours
Monday to Friday
8.30am – 4.30pm
Occasional evening and weekend attendance may be required to capture content around performances and special events, with appropriate time off in lieu.
