Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Fish and Chip Shop Fryer to join our busy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality fish and chips, ensuring excellent food safety standards, and delivering outstanding customer service. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the satisfaction of our valued customers. Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients for cooking, including battering and portioning fish and chips
Cook food to the highest standards, ensuring consistency in quality and presentation
Operate fryers safely and efficiently, maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the cooking area
Follow food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Assist with meal preparation during busy periods to ensure timely service
Maintain stock levels and notify management of supplies needed
Keep the kitchen clean and sanitised, adhering to health and safety guidelines
Serve customers politely and efficiently, providing excellent customer service when required

Skills

Experience in food preparation and cooking within a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of food safety procedures and hygiene standards
Previous experience working in a kitchen or restaurant setting is advantageous
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills and a friendly attitude towards customers and team members
Willingness to learn new skills related to meal preparation and food safety standards
