We are looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our team and take responsibility for both plant machinery maintenance and the upkeep of our facilities.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on role involving the maintenance, repair, and improvement of production plant machinery, as well as the general maintenance of company buildings and facilities. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime, and maintaining a safe, efficient working environment across the site.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlant & Machinery Maintenance
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
- Respond quickly to machinery breakdowns and implement effective corrective actions.
- Assist with machinery installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
- Maintain maintenance records and documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
Facilities Maintenance
- Carry out general building maintenance and repairs.
- Maintain and repair site electrical systems, lighting, and power distribution where qualified to do so.
- Perform basic plumbing repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain and repair industrial and commercial doors, shutters, locks, and access systems.
- Monitor and maintain heating, ventilation, and other site services.
- Coordinate with external contractors when specialist repairs or inspections are required.
- Support compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across the site.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, industrial, or plant environment.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.
- Experience maintaining plant machinery and production equipment.
- Knowledge of building and facilities maintenance, including basic electrical and plumbing work.
- Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Relevant engineering qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND, or equivalent) are desirable.
- Electrical qualifications (such as 18th Edition) would be advantageous but are not essential.

Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
