About East Kent Cartons

EKC is a growing business specialising in bespoke printed cartons. We work closely with clients to deliver high-quality, innovative packaging solutions across a range of industries.

The Role

We are looking for a CAD Operator with experience in the packaging industry to support the design and development of carton and packaging solutions.

This role will involve creating accurate CAD drawings, supporting production requirements, and working closely with internal teams to ensure designs are both functional and commercially viable.

Key Responsibilities

Create and amend CAD drawings for packaging and carton designs
Develop dielines and technical drawings for production
Ensure designs are accurate and meet manufacturing specifications
Liaise with internal teams (sales, production, design) to interpret briefs
Prepare files for cutting, prototyping, and production
Maintain organised CAD files and documentation
Assist with product development and continuous improvement

Requirements

Experience as a CAD Operator within the carton/packaging industry.
Strong knowledge of CAD software
Understanding of dielines, packaging structures, and materials
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills
