Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team delivering eco-friendly coffins to funeral directors, crematoriums, cemeteries, and other locations across the UK. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in providing a respectful, dependable service and enjoys being on the road.
The position is based on a 4-day working week, with 10-hour shifts, offering an excellent work-life balance. Due to the nationwide nature of deliveries, occasional overnight stays may be required, with accommodation and expenses provided where applicable.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company van to deliver eco-friendly coffins to customers across designated routes.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery schedules to ensure timely and professional service.
- Load, secure, and unload products carefully, maintaining their condition throughout transit.
- Provide a courteous and respectful service when delivering to funeral directors, crematoriums, cemeteries, and related organisations.
- Obtain proof of delivery and complete all required documentation accurately.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance issues.
- Communicate effectively with customers and the operations team regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Adhere to all road traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
- Complete occasional overnight stays when required to support longer-distance delivery routes.
- Assist with warehouse duties, stock organisation, and vehicle loading when necessary.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence with a clean or near-clean driving record.
- Previous delivery driving experience preferred.
- Comfortable driving long distances and managing multiple deliveries.
- Physically fit and capable of loading and unloading products safely.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Professional, respectful, and customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and represent the company positively.
- Flexibility to undertake occasional overnight stays.
