This is a role suitable for an experienced nurse who wants the clinical influence of a Clinical Lead alongside the operational scope of an Assistant Manager. You’ll shape the nursing and medical care our residents receive, while also playing a hands-on part in leading the wider team, staffing, quality and day to day running of the home.

Job Opportunity

Reporting to the Registered Manager and working closely with the Deputy Manager, you’ll be a visible, trusted presence across the Home - as comfortable leading a shift and supporting a residents care plan as you are contributing to rotas, audits, supervisions and inspection readiness.

You will:

Lead, support and facilitate the nursing and medical needs of our residents, ensuring care is always centred on their wishes, dignity and independence.
Act as shift leader, directing the effective day-to-day running of the Home and staff team.
Support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in the efficient management of care delivery, deputising where required.
Oversee staff rotas, ensuring the right skills and numbers are on duty at all times.
Deliver formal supervisions, appraisals and mentoring that help your team grow.
Keep care records, audits and organisational documentation to a consistently high standard.
Work hand-in-hand with families, external healthcare professionals and multi-disciplinary teams to get the best outcomes for residents.
Help prepare for and support mock and CQC inspections, turning findings into action.
Promote and safeguard the welfare of every individual in our care.

Essential Skills

About You

Registered with the relevant professional body (e.g. NMC), with excellent written and verbal English.
A supervisory or management qualification, or willingness to work towards one commensurate with the role.
Confident in making decisions and adapting quickly when situations change.
A strong understanding of person-centred care, safeguarding and the regulatory framework that governs our sector, including CQC requirements.
A calm, clear communicator who can lead meetings, support colleagues and liaise confidently with external professionals.
Genuinely compassionate - someone who treats people as individuals and leads with kindness, not just process.
Committed to continuous improvement, open to feedback, and always looking for ways to do things better.
