Jim Stokes Workshops Group are a market leader in the restoration and recreation of vintage and historic cars. With our global reputation, we restore and recreate some of the most significant and valuable road and racing cars in the world. We are looking to recruit an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join the highly skilled team in our restoration coach works (South Shore Coachworks).
In the role you will produce shapes and welded assemblies in aluminium and steel to a high level of quality; accurate to technical specification and authentic to original appearance. Previous experience of sheet metal work is essential and panel shape work would be an advantage. The role will provide excellent opportunities to train and develop these skills for the right candidate.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Read and understand technical drawing and specification sheets
- Accurate measurement of components and final products
- Correctly marking out from dimensions provided
- Cutting materials by hand plasma and disc cutting, etc
- Folding and bending
- Box and panel work
- High-quality welding of specified materials using MIG, TIG and Gas applications
- Dressing of finished products by grinding or sanding
