About the role
We are looking for an SEO Account Manager to own our client relationships and act as the link between our clients and our SEO delivery team. This is a client-facing role with a clear path to growth: you'll start by managing a large portfolio of clients and coordinating delivery, and over time, working closely with the Head of Marketing, you'll develop into managing the SEO team directly.
You will manage a high volume of small clients across the UK and some in the UAE, so you'll need to be exceptionally organised, a strong communicator, and comfortable leaning heavily on AI tools to work at speed and scale. You'll report directly to the Head of Marketing and work closely with them on AI initiatives designed to streamline both your role and the wider team's output.
Key responsibilities
Client management
- Act as the primary point of contact for all UK and some UAE clients
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships across your client portfolio
- Communicate SEO strategy, progress and results clearly to non-technical clients
- Manage client expectations, handle queries, and resolve concerns professionally
- Identify opportunities to grow accounts and add value
Delivery coordination
- Translate client objectives into clear, actionable briefs for the SEO team
- Coordinate with the team on what needs doing across all client accounts, setting clear priorities and deadlines
- Help ensure deliverables meet edirect's standards on quality and timing before they reach the client
- Manage workflow across a large portfolio, balancing competing priorities
Growing into team management
- Work closely with the Head of Marketing to develop the skills to manage the SEO team
- Over time, take on increasing responsibility for directing the team and holding them accountable for the quality and deadlines of their deliverables
- This is a development area, full team-management experience is not expected from day one; we'll support you to grow into it
Strategy and oversight
- Help develop SEO strategies tailored to each client's goals
- Monitor performance across accounts and feed into adjustments
- Report on results and demonstrate value to clients and to the Head of Marketing
AI and process
- Lean heavily on AI tools to expedite your role, from reporting and analysis to client communication and brief-writing
- Work closely with the Head of Marketing on AI initiatives to streamline your workflow and that of the wider SEO team
- Continuously look for ways to work faster and more efficiently without compromising quality
Required experience and knowledge
- Solid experience in SEO, with direct, hands-on background across the core disciplines (you won't be expected to execute day-to-day, but you must understand the work well enough to direct and review it)
- Strong working knowledge of:
Technical SEO (site audits, site speed, crawlability, indexing)
On-page SEO and content optimisation
Link building and off-page strategy
Content marketing and SEO content strategy
Local SEO and Google Business Profile
Keyword research and competitor analysis
- Hands-on experience with industry tools such as Semrush, Ahrefs, Google Analytics, Google Search Console and similar
- Experience managing client relationships and accounts, ideally in an agency environment
- Confident using AI tools to improve speed and efficiency
Skills and attributes
- Excellent communicator, able to build rapport quickly and explain SEO clearly to non-technical clients
- Highly organised, able to manage a large portfolio of clients without dropping detail
- Ambitious and keen to develop into a team-management role
- Commercially minded and results-focused
- Proactive, adaptable, and keen to embrace AI and new ways of working
- Calm under pressure and able to juggle competing priorities
Nice to have
- Experience with clients in the UAE or international markets
- Agency-side experience managing high volumes of small accounts
- Any prior experience mentoring, coordinating or leading others
- Familiarity with paid search, social or wider digital marketing

Pay: £34,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
