About Us:
The Panel Delivery Company is a fast-growing business specialising in the delivery of Sheet Materials across the UK. We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Transport Planner to take ownership of our day-to-day transport operation.
This is a key operational role where you'll be responsible for planning, booking, and coordinating deliveries across multiple transport networks, working closely with customers, drivers, warehouse staff, and subcontractors to ensure everything runs smoothly.
This position offers genuine responsibility and autonomy, with the opportunity to take full ownership of an established transport function.
The working hours for this role are 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
The 6:00 am start is essential and cannot be changed. Please only apply if you can reliably commit to these hours.

The Role:
You will be responsible for managing all day-to-day transport planning activities across our delivery operation, including:
● Planning and scheduling deliveries
● Booking Palletforce deliveries
● Coordinating Moffett deliveries
● Managing DPD parcel shipments
● Arranging supplier collections
● Liaising with customers regarding delivery queries
● Communicating daily requirements to warehouse teams
● Coordinating with drivers and subcontractors
● Monitoring driver hours and compliance
● Updating delivery information across internal systems
● Raising transport purchase orders
● Supporting transport cost management and rate negotiations
You will become the central point of contact for transport-related matters across the business.

Experience with similar systems is useful, although full training will be provided.
Role requirements:
Essential
● Previous experience in transport planning, logistics coordination, or a similar operational role.
● Excellent organisational skills and ability to work calmly under pressure
● Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
● Confidence working across multiple software systems
● Good problem-solving skills
● Strong attention to detail
● Ability to commit to a permanent 6:00am-3:00pm working pattern
● Flexibility to support operational requirements outside normal working hours on occasion.
Desirable
● Experience within transport, logistics, distribution, or warehousing
● Knowledge of pallet networks or parcel delivery operations
● Experience working with transport management systems.

Salary & Benefits:
● £30,000 per annum during probation
● Increase to £35,000 following successful completion of the 90-day performance period.
