Chemical Cleaning Operative - Head Office Elsham
Altrad are currently looking for Chemical Cleaning Operatives to join the team at Elsham / Immingham for site works.
This role will involve working 38 hour weeks Monday - Friday, with an immediate start available.
The position is paid under AES agreement (£13.14 per hour)

Job Overview
The Chemical Cleaning Operative cleans, maintains, and restores equipment, surfaces, and work areas using specified chemical agents and cleaning processes. The role ensures safety and quality standards are always met and handles chemical substances with care and precision.

As an Insulation Engineer you will be responsible for carrying out Insulation works in a safe, competent manner and in line with both our systems.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Read and understand cleaning schedules and instructions for various locations and equipment.
- Prepare work areas by setting up safety signs, ventilation, and containment barriers as required.
- Select and mix cleaning solutions according to safety data sheets and manufacturer guidelines.
- Apply cleaning agents to machinery, pipes, tanks, floors, and other surfaces using manual or powered equipment.
- Remove chemical residues, contaminants, or scale using brushes, sprays, pumps, or high-pressure cleaners.
- Rinse, dry, and inspect cleaned areas and equipment to ensure thorough cleaning.
- Dispose of waste materials and used chemicals according to safety and environmental regulations.
- Store cleaning chemicals and equipment securely and report any shortages or defects to the supervisor.
- Complete cleaning logs and checklists to document all work activities and hazards found.
- Use protective clothing and equipment, and follow safe working practices at all times.
- Assist with cleaning machine maintenance and report malfunctions or hazards immediately.
- Participate in safety drills, risk assessments, and ongoing training related to chemical handling and cleaning processes.
What we are looking for:
- Basic reading and math skills to understand instructions, measurements, and safety data sheets.
- Full UK Driving licence.
- Previous experience in industrial or commercial cleaning is preferred.
- Safety Passport Ideal.
- WJA - High pressure water jetting ideal.
- Understanding of safe handling, mixing, and storage of cleaning chemicals.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move cleaning equipment and materials throughout the shift.
- Ability to handle repetitive tasks and work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to following health and safety procedures.
- Good communication skills to understand instructions and report issues clearly.
- Willingness to work variable hours or shifts, including evenings or weekends as required by the job site.
