Full job description

Job Title: Human Resources (HR) Officer

Contract Hours: 37 hours per week

Annual Salary: £28,861

Benefits: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, 6% pension contribution

Workplace: Hybrid working available

Accountable to: Senior Human Resources (HR) Officer / Chief Executive Officer

Main Purpose of the Job:

Support the day-to-day HR operation of Leeway, providing effective and compliant “end to end” functions for all staff
Act as a trusted advisor to the Senior Management Team, building confidence and capability in managing people and handling HR matters

Key Responsibilities:

To support the delivery of all matters related to HR activity within Leeway, to ensure all staff are fully supported in their roles
To support the Senior HR Officer to ensure HR practices are compliant with all relevant legislation particularly regarding employment, company and charity law, and aligns with GDPR requirements
Work closely with the Senior HR Officer, Seniors, Managers and the Senior Management Team to support organisational change, workforce planning and people-related decision making
To undertake all duties relating to the recruitment of Leeway staff, according to Leeway’s recruitment policy.
Including to draft and place adverts, arrange interviews, and produce starter packs and contracts of employment
To ensure that all necessary legal checks are carried out with all staff eg. DBS, references, immigration status, car documents
Act as first point of contact for staff who have employment / performance queries or concerns
Monitor and implement Leeway’s policies on sickness and absence including monitoring staff sickness, SSP and Maternity leave, and ensure that instances are recorded through the completion of absence and back to work forms
Maintain & update Leeway’s confidential personnel systems and databases
Support the delivery of Leeway’s training and workforce development programme and ensure training records are accurate and up to date.
When required, support Managers in performance or disciplinary investigations, by taking accurate minutes
When required, undertake exit interviews and update HR systems to reflect staff feedback Record and monitor Leeway’s recruitment statistics according to Leeway’s equal opportunities policy
To keep abreast of developments in employment law and HR best practice, updating policies, procedures and guidance
Build effective relationships across the organisation and represent HR when engaging with external stakeholders (e.g. candidates, providers, HR consultants)

Corporate Responsibilities:

Adhere to all Leeway policies
Ensure the effective implementation of Leeway Equality and Diversity policies Ensure the service user is at the heart of all service delivery and development
Attend all meetings and training relevant to your role Act as an ambassador for Leeway
To carry out other duties appropriate to the post as requested by your line manager or other manager or Board member

Pay: £28,861.00 per year

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Norwich NR2 1NH
