We are seeking an experienced Purchaisng Manager to lead our purchasing function across our expanding property portfolio, including student accommodation, private rental, commercial units, and construction/development projects.
Working closely with senior management, project teams and operational sites, you will oversee purchasing activity, supplier relationships and cost control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead purchasing across operational sites, developments and refurbishment projects.
- Source materials, operational supplies, equipment and plant hire.
- Manage supplier relationships, pricing, agreements and performance.
- Verify invoices, resolve discrepancies and support finance processes.
- Support project purchases, track deliveries and coordinate logistics.
- Oversee stock control, inventory systems and inter‑site deliveries.
- Resolve product issues, manage returns and quality checks.
- Improve purchasing processes, systems and documentation.
- Line-manage and support the Purchasing Coordinator.
What We're Looking For
- Strong negotiation, communication and organisational skills — you'll be managing suppliers and deadlines with confidence
- Previous purchasing or procurement experience, ideally within construction or a related trade environment
- Based full-time at our LE3 0GH office
- Adaptable and calm under pressure — this is a fast-paced SME where priorities shift and you'll need to juggle multiple things at once
- Proactive and detail-focused, with a practical mindset and the ability to hit the ground running
- Comfortable working in a hands-on environment where decisions are made quickly and you're close to the action
- A relevant qualification (such as CIPS) is a bonus, but we're more interested in hands-on experience
