Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Vehicle Painter/Prepper to join our team. This role involves preparing and painting vehicles to a high standard, ensuring a professional finish that meets our quality expectations. The successful candidate will be responsible for surface preparation, applying paint coats, and maintaining a clean and organised work environment. Previous experience in vehicle refinishing or related fields is advantageous, but full training will be provided for motivated individuals. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialised skills within the automotive industry.

Duties

Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure optimal paint adhesion
Apply primer, base coats, and clear coats using spray guns or other painting equipment
Carry out minor repairs and touch-ups as required before painting
Use hand tools and power tools safely to assist with surface preparation and finishing tasks
Conduct thorough inspections of painted surfaces for quality control and consistency
Assist with heavy lifting of vehicle parts or materials to facilitate efficient workflow
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used for each vehicle

Skills

Mechanical knowledge relevant to vehicle repair and refinishing processes
Proficiency in using hand tools such as sanders, scrapers, and brushes
Experience with power tools including spray guns, drills, and grinders is desirable
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment
Attention to detail to ensure high-quality paint finishes
Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Strong commitment to health and safety standards in a workshop environment
