Cladding Labourer
Lester Cladding is looking to hire a Cladding Labourer for an immediate start.
The job involves manual handling, working at heights, and is site based across North Wales and the North West (Manchester/Liverpool/ etc).
A van is provided to get to and from site, with all tools, fuel etc paid for in full as well as all travel time.
Job Description:
Basic labouring
- Passes tools and equipment from van when asked, carries sheets and takes protective film off sheets.
- Tidies up site, including brushing up and cleaning sheets.
- Secure sheets and material safely.
Fixing various materials such as,
- Put spin safe screws in.
- Put stitcher screws in.
- Fix bars on.
- Fix the main fix screws into sheets
Installation & pre-installation tasks
- Mastic flashings
- Can wool out and cut wool to size.
- Mark up sheets and flashings.
- Cut insulation board for flashings.
- Can fit pre-cut flashings i.e. retainers.
- Fit pre-cut flashings i.e. door jambs and drips
Ability to use tools
- Can use a ripsaw to cut galv.
- Use a jigsaw.
- Use a pair of snips.
Progression in the role can lead to other responsibilities, including the below:
- Can be left to carry out basic tasks on his own, or with a labourer. Tasks such as installing flashings.
- Can create a return on a drip flashing.
- Has the ability to read drawings.
- Checks on accessories and orders in time, and deliveries to avoid delay.
Minimum hours of work are
November - February:
Monday-Thursday: 7am start time at the yard, then travel to site, with a 4pm site finish time, plus travel back to the yard.
Fridays: 7am start time at the yard, with a 2pm site finish time, plus travel back to the yard.
Rest of the year:
Monday-Thursday: 6.30am start time at the yard, then travel to site, with a 4.30pm site finish time, plus travel back to the yard.
Fridays: 6.30am start time at the yard, with a 2pm site finish time, plus travel back to the yard.
Any overtime is paid in full. Weekend work is available paid at time and a half.
Rates of pay is dependent on experience and qualifications. The starting rate of pay for a Cladding Labourer would only be higher than this, should you have previously Cladding Labourer/Installation/Supervisor experience.
Previous construction labouring experience would be preferable, but not essential.
No previous cladding experience is required to apply.
It is essential you have:
- UK Driving License (no car is required, vans are provided through the business for use during business hours).
- You are aged 18+ (for health and safety site restrictions)
- You can read and write spoken English
It is preferential you have:
- CSCS card. (if you do not have this qualification, we can discuss the possibility of helping you obtain this qualification).
- Work at Height Training
It is desirable to have other qualifications, including but not limited to:
- IPAF
- CPCS
- NPORS
- SMSTS or SSSTS
- First Aid at Work
- Mental Health First Aid
- Manual Handling
- FASET
- Harness Inspection
