Caledonian Enforcement Solutions is looking for professional, confident and community-minded individuals to join our team as Community Enforcement Officers in Aberdeen.
Working in partnership with Aberdeen City Council, you'll help create cleaner, safer and more welcoming public spaces by engaging with members of the public, providing education and advice, investigating environmental offences and, where necessary, taking enforcement action.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll spend your time out in the community, supporting residents, businesses and visitors while helping to reduce environmental crime and anti-social behaviour.
No previous enforcement experience is required as full training will be provided.
About the Role
As a Community Enforcement Officer, you will be responsible for promoting community pride and supporting environmental improvement initiatives throughout Aberdeen.
Your duties will include community engagement, environmental enforcement, investigating offences, gathering evidence and issuing Fixed Penalty Notices for offences such as littering, dog fouling and other environmental offences where appropriate.
You will act as a professional ambassador for both Caledonian Enforcement Solutions and Aberdeen City Council, helping to educate the public while ensuring local regulations are followed.
What You'll Be Doing
- Patrolling public areas on foot and by vehicle across Aberdeen.
- Acting as a visible presence to deter environmental crime and anti-social behaviour.
- Engaging positively with members of the public, local businesses and community groups.
- Investigating reports of environmental offences.
- Gathering evidence and preparing reports in accordance with company procedures and legislation.
- Issuing Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) where offences are witnessed.
- Providing education and advice to help prevent environmental crime.
- Completing administrative tasks and maintaining accurate records.
- Supporting Aberdeen City Council's environmental objectives.
- Assisting with court proceedings and providing witness statements where required.
A Typical Day Could Include
- Patrolling local communities and town centres.
- Speaking with residents and businesses.
- Responding to requests from Aberdeen City Council.
- Investigating incidents of littering and dog fouling.
- Gathering evidence and preparing case files.
- Issuing Fixed Penalty Notices where appropriate.
- Working with colleagues to improve local environments and community wellbeing.

- Hold a full UK driving licence.
Previous experience in enforcement, security, customer service, policing, military, retail management or public-facing roles would be advantageous but is not essential.

Company Vehicle: Access to a shared site vehicle is provided for business-related travel. The vehicle is not assigned to an individual employee and is not permitted for personal use or home storage unless specifically authorised.
Hours of Work
- 40 hours per week.
- 8-hour shifts.
- Five days over seven on a rota basis, including some weekends and bank holidays.
Additional Information
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Successfully complete a Disclosure Scotland check.
- Provide a full five-year checkable employment history.
- Successfully complete all required training and probationary assessments.
Contract
- Full-time position.
- Fixed-term 12-month contract.
- Subject to a three-month probationary period.
- Opportunity for extension and permanent employment based on performance and contract requirements.
