Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control, procurement, and contractual administration throughout the lifecycle of our projects. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a pivotal role in liaising with clients, sub-contractors, and internal teams to facilitate smooth project delivery and financial management.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process, implementing cost control measures as necessary.
- Manage tendering processes, including preparing tender documents and evaluating bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure favourable terms.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and verify that work complies with contractual specifications and quality standards.
- Manage variations and claims efficiently to minimise financial impact on the project.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to the project for audit purposes.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery within budget constraints.
- Lead procurement activities by sourcing materials, equipment, and services in line with project requirements.
- Audit the accuracy of cost reports from Project Management team
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a strong emphasis on cost control within the construction industry.
- Relevant professional qualification such as MRICS or equivalent recognised chartered status is highly desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of construction contracts, procurement procedures, and legal frameworks, specifically NEC4 and JCT contracts.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong negotiation skills coupled with effective communication abilities.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and data interpretation skills.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.

Pay: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
