We're looking for a Mechanical Apprentice to join our Natural Resources Team and assist on our South West Water contract across Devon & Cornwall, working towards a Level 3 apprenticeship in Engineering maintenance technician
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading construction and infrastructure services company on an apprenticeship. Whilst working towards a recognised qualification, you'll be able to put your learnings into practice in your day-to-day role, helping you progress within your chosen career.
Location: Okehampton, Devon- travel across Devon and Cornwall will be required
Hours: 45 hours per week
Salary: £23,400
Start Date: September 2026

How does an apprenticeship work?
As a Mechanical Apprentice you'll be enrolled onto a Level 3 apprenticeship in Engineering maintenance Technician, giving you the opportunity to earn whilst you learn. You'll work closely with the Natural Resources Team and support with the overall design, build and maintenance of infrastructure projects, with a common goal of connecting people.
Your day to day will include:
- Inspecting and testing equipment to ensure functionality and compliance with regulations
- Performing routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical infrastructure
- Following strict health and safety regulations, including wearing PPE and working safely around roads.
- Gaining knowledge of mechanical regulations and standards
What are we looking for?
The role of an Mechanical Apprentice is great for you if you:
- Have GCSE Grade 4 or above in Maths and English
- 18 years or older by the time the position starts
- Are willing to learn
- Self-motivated, punctual and organised
- Driving License
