Catering Technician / Cook

Hours: Part Time, Friday to Sunday, although can be flexible on week day.

Location: Langford Park Nursing Home, Exeter, EX5 5AG

At our Care Home, you will be responsible for running the kitchen and meal experience for our elderly residents.

By creating and preparing a varied and nourishing menu, you’ll directly support the wellbeing of our residents and make a genuine difference to their quality of life.

Who We Are Looking For

You should have recent experience of cooking for large numbers in a commercial setting.
You must have previously managed and motivated a catering team.
You’ll have experience of providing food for people with special dietary requirements.
We’d like someone who is flexible, who can work alternate weekends.
An enhanced DBS check is required for this role.

How You’ll Make a Difference

You’ll be responsible for our residents’ meal experience and running the nursing home’s kitchen. Leading and supporting a team, you will:

Designing a varied menu that reflects our residents’ tastes and supports their nutritional needs.
Ensuring mealtimes are always a high-quality experience.
Maintaining the highest food standards.
Supporting, training and directing the kitchen team
Mentoring and motivating on quality, safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
Assisting the General Manager in developing and managing the budgetary, human and material resources within the department.
