Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced Complex Care Nurse (RGN/RN) to provide high-quality, person-centred care for a client living with a Spinal Cord Injury who is ventilator-dependent.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference by delivering specialist clinical care within the client's own home while promoting their independence, dignity, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

Medication administration.
Tracheostomy care and suctioning.
Ventilator management and monitoring.
Oral hygiene using a suction toothbrush.
Personal care and assistance with activities of daily living.
Pressure area care and skin integrity management.
Safe moving and handling, including hoist transfers.
Nutrition and hydration support.
Monitoring and prompt recognition of Autonomic Dysreflexia.
Clinical observations and ongoing health monitoring.
Providing emotional, psychological, and social support to the client.

Essential Requirements

Registered Nurse (RGN/RN) with a valid NMC PIN.
Previous experience in complex care and community nursing.
Competent in tracheostomy care, suctioning, and ventilator management.
Experience supporting individuals with spinal cord injuries is highly desirable.
Excellent clinical assessment and communication skills.
Ability to work independently while following detailed care plans and clinical protocols.
Compassionate, reliable, and committed to delivering exceptional person-centred care.
