The Opportunity
We are seeking a fully qualified Clinical Negligence Lawyer withat least five years post-qualification experience to join a growing, high calibreteam. Working closely with experienced practitioners Sara Westwood and ColinCook, you will independently manage a varied claimant clinical negligencecaseload while contributing to the continued development of a respectedregional practice recognised in both The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners.
Sara Westwood is a highly experienced Clinical Negligence Lawyerand Partner, acting exclusively for claimants. She is a member of AvMA, the LawSocietys Clinical Negligence Panel, and a Senior Litigator with theAssociation of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), bringing nationally recognisedspecialist expertise to the team.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage avaried caseload: Run claimantclinical negligence claims from inception through to settlement or trial.
- Handle complex matters: Work on claims involving surgicalerrors, delayed diagnoses, birth injuries, orthopaedic injuries and other high valueor sensitive matters.
- Investigate liability and causation: Review medical records, assess breach ofduty, establish causation and accurately quantify damages.
- Work with experts and counsel: Instruct independent medical experts and collaborate withbarristers to build robust, evidence led cases.
- Deliver exceptional client care: Provide clear, empathetic and accessible advice to clientswho may be facing distressing or life changing circumstances.
- Take part in business development: Contribute proactively to marketing, networking, referrer relationships, events, content creation and wider initiatives that help growthe Clinical Negligence practice.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Fullyqualified Lawyer in England and Wales with a current practising certificate.
- Minimum of five years PQE, primarilyor exclusively in claimant clinical or medical negligence work.
- Strong technical knowledge of theCivil Procedure Rules, clinical negligence frameworks and litigation procedure.
- Proven ability to manage a complexcaseload with appropriate independence and sound judgement.
- Excellent analytical, drafting,communication and client-care skills.
- Compassionate, organised andcommercially aware, with a collaborative approach to team working.
- Willingness to take an active role inbusiness development, including building professional relationships, supportingmarketing activity and identifying opportunities for growth.
