Full job description

CR Children's Care is a newly established therapeutic home dedicated to supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma that are looked after by the local authority. If you are compassionate, resilient, and committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Children's Senior Residential Support Worker to join our team during a period of Maternity leave. We are in the process of registering our Second home and therefore any recruitment into this maternity cover has the potential to result in a full time position upon the registering of our second home.

The ideal candidate must have experience working with children in residential settings and possess strong communication and leadership skills. As a Children's Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting children with their daily activities and ensuring their well-being, as well as leading a team and liaising with management. This position requires a proactive individual who is able to drive and is familiar with developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs.

Applicants should be resilient in the face of challenging behaviours, passionate about consistently showing up for the children, and committed to advocating for them while helping them feel safe and loved.

UNFORTUNATELY WE CANNOT OFFER SPONSORSHIP FOR VISAS.

Hourly rate: £16.55 plus sleep-in payments.

Yearly Earnings: up to £40,304

Job Type: Full-time, shift-based (days, nights, weekends)

Duties

Provide support to children in the home environment, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Create a safe, homely and nurturing environment for children to thrive and grow.
Assist with the development and implementation of personalised care plans, adapting as necessary to meet changing needs.
Engage with children through play, educational activities, and social interactions to promote their development.
Maintain clear communication with parents, guardians, and other professionals involved in the child's care.
Document progress and any significant changes in behaviour or circumstances, ensuring accurate records are kept.
Drive to various locations as required for activities or appointments, ensuring safe transportation of children.
Utilise IT skills for record-keeping and communication purposes as needed.

Requirements

Previous experience working with children is essential.
To hold at least a Level 3/4 Diploma for Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification.
Confident in leading a team, holding supervisions and performance management.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with children and families.
A valid driving licence is required to facilitate transportation duties.
Knowledge of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
Proficiency in IT applications for documentation and reporting purposes is desirable.
