kGems Day Nurseries is looking for a passionate Nursery Manager to lead our exciting new nursery opening in Braintree.

About the role
As Nursery Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the nursery and be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of care, education, safeguarding and compliance.
Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will have the opportunity to help shape the nursery's culture, recruit and develop staff, build strong parent partnerships and support the successful growth of the setting.
This is an ideal role for an experienced manager looking for a fresh challenge or a strong deputy manager ready to progress into their first nursery manager position with support and guidance.
Main responsibilities
Your role will include:
- Leading and inspiring the nursery team
- Creating a positive, supportive and professional working environment
- Ensuring excellent safeguarding practices are embedded throughout the nursery
- Overseeing the delivery of high-quality EYFS provision
- Supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing
- Managing staffing, ratios and day-to-day nursery operations
- Building strong relationships with children, families and external professionals
- Supporting staff recruitment, induction, supervision and development
- Ensuring compliance with EYFS, Ofsted and statutory requirements
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Promoting occupancy growth through excellent customer service and parent engagement
- Driving continuous improvement and maintaining high standards across the nursery
Essential requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification or above
- Experience as a Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager, Third in Charge or similar leadership role within an Ofsted-registered nursery or early years setting
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
- Experience leading, mentoring and developing staff
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A genuine passion for delivering outstanding early years education and care
- The right to work in the UK
Desirable
It would be beneficial if you have:
- Experience as a DSL, Deputy DSL or SENCO
- Experience with occupancy management and parent enquiries
- Familiarity with Famly or other nursery management systems
- Experience preparing for or supporting Ofsted inspections
