Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Health and Safety Consultant to join our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment for all staff. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards, conducting risk assessments, and advising management on best practices to minimise workplace incidents. The ideal applicant will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and relevant qualifications in health and safety management. Duties

Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across various departments and operational sites
Develop, review, and update health and safety policies in line with current legislation
Deliver training sessions on health and safety procedures, including first aid protocols
Investigate workplace incidents by performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
Prepare detailed reports documenting findings, recommendations, and corrective actions
Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations through regular inspections
Advise management on the implementation of safety measures and best practices
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports
Promote a culture of safety awareness among employees through ongoing communication
Carry out site inspections to a tailored schedule.
Complete reporting and feedback.

Experience

Proven experience in a health and safety advisory or consultancy role within an organisational setting ideally in construction.
Demonstrable knowledge of current health and safety legislation and standards applicable in the UK
Certification in first aid is essential; additional qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH are highly desirable
Experience in report writing with the ability to produce clear, concise documentation
Strong analytical skills with expertise in root cause analysis techniques
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Previous experience conducting training sessions or workshops on health and safety topics is advantageous
