We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and reliable Farm Shop Assistant to join our team at The Lambing Shed. This customer-facing role involves providing excellent service, maintaining high standards throughout the shop, and supporting the day-to-day running of the business.
The successful candidate will work within the our farm shop and be required to assist behind the deli and butchery counters, serving customers and preparing products while following food hygiene and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist customers, providing a warm and knowledgeable service.
- Operate the till and process customer purchases accurately.
- Replenish stock, rotate products, and ensure displays are well presented.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and inviting shopping environment.
- Assist with receiving and checking deliveries.
- Prepare and serve products from the deli counter.
- Support the butchery counter by serving customers, packaging products, and maintaining product displays.
- Follow all food hygiene, health and safety, and allergen procedures.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to management.
- Help with opening and closing duties as required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across all areas of the farm shop.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.

- Reliable with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work flexibly, including weekends and busy seasonal periods.
Desirable:
- Previous retail, farm shop, deli, or food service experience.
- Experience handling fresh food or working behind a deli or butchery counter.
- Food Hygiene Certificate (training can be provided).
