Full job description

Join one of cheshires most exciting independent Italian restaurants.

At The Social osteria, every service is built around fresh pasta and pizza made in house daily, quality seasonal ingredients and genuine Italian hospitality.

We are looking for a talented head pizza chef to help us to continue raising the bar as we grow The Social brand

The role

As Senior pizza chef you will work alongside the head chef, helping to lead the kitchen team, whilst ensuring every dish reflects the standard the made the social name successful.

You will be responsible for maintaining exceptional food standards daily, developing your team and leading by example whilst supporting the head chef in his duties.

This is a hands on role that will see you taking over the current head pizza chef as he moves over to an executive role

Key Responsibilities

Food and service –

· Prep and serve dishes to the social osterias exacting standards, never cutting corners even in busy times resilience is key.

· Champion the quality of our great fresh pizza and seasonal Italian menu.

· Support the head chef in new menu development and specials.

· Maintain a professional approach toward food and service at all times.

Kitchen leadership

· Support and motivate the kitchen team through positive leadership.

· Lead the service confidently in the head chef’s absence.

· Coach and develop junior chefs or new starters.

· Encourage accountability and pride in every shift.

· Work alongside the management team to create a full restaurant team that works together in harmony.

Food safety and compliance

· Ensure all food hygiene HACCP procedures are followed.

· Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment.

· Complete all required food safety documentation.

· Ensure all allergen procedures are followed without exception.

Standards

· Uphold the reputation of the social brand every day.

· Drive consistency across every service.

· Take ownership of kitchen organisation and cleanliness.

· Identify opportunities to improve systems and efficiency.

About you

You will be someone who:

· Has previous experience as a head pizza chef or senior role.

· Loves working with fresh ingredients and preparing food from scratch

· Loves learning about new food products or cooking techniques.

· Has a genuine passion for Italian food and fresh pasta

· Leads with positivity, professionalism and integrity.

· Remains calm under pressure

· Takes pride in developing others.

· Understands the importance of consistency in every service.
