Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled 7.5 Tonne Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service, adherence to road safety regulations, and the ability to manage time effectively.

Duties

Operate a 7.5 tonne lorry for the transportation of goods, ensuring compliance with all relevant driving regulations.
Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working order.
Load and unload goods, ensuring they are secured appropriately for transport.
Deliver products to customers in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of customer service.
Complete all necessary actions related to deliveries, including delivery notes, ePod and vehicle logs.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.

Skills

Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with curtain side vehicles.
Valid commercial driving licence (CPC) for operating 7.5 tonne vehicles.
Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for interaction with customers and team members.
Ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading and unloading goods.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
