About Us

Wags & Whiskers Pet Hotel & Spa is a 5-star rated dog boarding and daycare facility set in beautiful Somerset countryside at Brent Farm, Highbridge. We look after our guests to the highest standard and take enormous pride in keeping our facility spotlessly clean, safe, and welcoming for every dog in our care. We are a friendly, passionate team and we are looking for someone who shares that pride.

The Role

This is a hands-on morning cleaning role covering our boarding suites, public areas, and laundry. You will work to a structured daily schedule, following our cleaning procedures to ensure every suite is hygienically clean and ready for its canine guest each morning. You will be comfortable working independently, following a clear process, and taking real pride in the standard of your work.

What You Will Be Doing

Carrying out daily cleans of all occupied boarding suites to our hygiene and infection control standard
Performing deep cleans of suites as required, including all internal surfaces
Cleaning and disinfecting corridors, reception, the dog kitchen, bathrooms, and daycare areas
Laundry — washing, drying, and returning bedding and towels
Following our structured cleaning procedure including correct product dilution, contact times, and equipment protocols
Working in coordination with the animal care team during the morning clean cycle
Reporting any maintenance issues, product shortages, or concerns to the shift leader

What We Are Looking For

Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in doing a thorough job
Comfortable working around dogs — you do not need dog handling experience but you must be at ease around them
Able to work independently and follow a structured process without supervision
Physically active and comfortable with a fast-paced morning shift
Attention to detail — our guests' health depends on the standard of our cleaning
Previous cleaning experience is required for this role

What We Offer

£12.71 per hour
Part-time permanent contract with guaranteed hours between 15 and 21 hours per week
A guaranteed full weekend off every fortnight, built into your contract
Full training provided — no prior kennel experience necessary

Shift Pattern

This role works Monday to Thursday on a fortnightly rotation shared with a second cleaner. One fortnight you will work Monday to Thursday, the next fortnight you will cover Friday to Sunday. This guarantees you a full weekend off every fortnight. Full details will be explained at interview.

On-site accommodation may be available to rent for the right candidate — please enquire for details at interview.

Pay: £12.71 per hour
