Job Title: Post Knocker Operator
Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable, skilled, and safety-conscious Post Knocker Operator to join our team. An opportunity for an experienced fencer to lead\manage a team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a post knocker (post driver) attached to a tractor or tracked post knocker. Primarily for installing agricultural/ solar farm fencing.
Key Responsibilities
- Operation: Safely and efficiently operate a tractor-mounted or tracked hydraulic post knocker to drive wooden or metal posts into the ground to specified depths and alignment.
- Maintenance: Perform routine daily inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs (e.g., checking fluid levels, greasing moving parts, cleaning equipment) on the post knocker and associated machinery.
- Site Preparation: Assist with site setup, including measuring, marking, and staking post locations according to project plans and specifications.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and relevant regulations. Ensure the safe operation of equipment near personnel, utilities, and property.
- Logistics: Load and unload equipment and materials (posts, fencing) and transport them safely around the work site.
- Teamwork: Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding progress, potential issues, and site conditions.
Requirements:
Proven experience (e.g., 1-3 years) operating heavy machinery, specifically a post knocker/post driver.
Experience in carrying out agricultural fencing, and familiar with tools and techniques.
CSCS card an advantage
This job is remote, our work ranges across the South of England and will require you to stay away 4 nights a week. Accommodation will be supplied along with a stay away allowance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
