Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmaceutical Technician (qualified or trainee) to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining accurate records. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about patient care and medication management to contribute to a reputable healthcare facility. The position is paid and suitable for those looking to develop their career within the pharmaceutical sector.

Duties

Assist pharmacists with the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions in accordance with legal and organisational guidelines
Manage medication inventory, including stock checks and reordering as necessary
Administer medications under supervision, ensuring correct dosage and administration procedures are followed
Provide support with patient care activities, including answering queries related to medication usage and side effects
Maintain accurate documentation of medication records, prescriptions, and patient information
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the pharmacy environment
Support in the training of new staff as required
Uphold high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and confidentiality at all times

Skills

Prior experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar role is highly desirable
Knowledge of medication and patient care procedures
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in record keeping and medication handling
Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Good understanding of health and safety regulations within pharmaceutical practice
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a busy healthcare environment
