Full job description

Job Overview

The D&H Group is a business based in Portsmouth, covering two trading companies: D&H Damp Proofing and D&H Carpentry & Construction. We carry out damp proofing, timber treatment, fitted furniture and construction work across Hampshire, and we're proud of a reputation built on doing things properly for our customers.

We're now looking for a Part-Time Administrator to join us and keep the office side of both companies running smoothly.

**The role**

This is a varied admin role supporting the day-to-day running of the business. You'll be the first point of contact for a lot of our customers, so we're after someone friendly, well organised and confident picking up the phone.

Day to day you'll be:

- Answering incoming calls and emails, and passing enquiries to the right person

- Booking in surveys and jobs, and keeping the diary up to date

- Preparing and sending quotes and invoices

- Basic bookkeeping tasks in Xero, and chasing outstanding payments

- Keeping customer records, job files and paperwork organised

- General office admin and supporting the directors as needed

**Hours and location**

Hours are 10am–2pm, Monday to Friday.

You'll spend your first 2–4 weeks training in Southsea so you get to know the business, our systems and the team properly. After that this becomes a work-from-home role, with one team meet-up each week.

**About you**

- Well organised, with good attention to detail

- Confident and professional on the phone and over email

- Comfortable with computers — email, Microsoft Office / Google Workspace

- Able to work on your own initiative once trained

- Experience with Xero is preferable, though not essential for the right person

- Previous admin, office or bookkeeping experience is an advantage

- Reliable, trustworthy and happy working as part of a small team
