Overview

Join the Bearslake Kitchen team as a Sous Chef, where your passion for food and leadership will support our kitchen to serve local food to our guests. In this role, you will lead daily kitchen activities, supervising food production, and ensuring quality and safety standards. Your energy and expertise will inspire our team to deliver memorable dining experiences that delight every guest. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in a vibrant hospitality environment while working in a beautiful 13th Century Dartmoor thatched pub.

Responsibilities

Overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, fostering teamwork, motivation, and high standards of performance.
Ensure all food safety regulations and cleaning procedures are followed to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Coordinate food production schedules to meet service demands efficiently and uphold quality standards.
Support the training and development of team members
Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste.
Contribute to menu planning by providing creative input and ensuring consistency in food quality.

Qualifications

Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality setting.
Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
Extensive kitchen experience with a focus on culinary excellence and food safety compliance.
Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff.
Knowledge of restaurant operations, serving procedures, and hospitality standards.
Passion for culinary arts with a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Pay: £36,000.00 per year
