Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Baker/Cake Decorator to join our dynamic bakery team. This role involves creating high-quality baked goods and beautifully decorated cakes, ensuring each product meets our standards of excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and culinary arts, with a keen eye for detail and presentation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your baking skills and contribute to memorable celebrations for our customers.

Duties

Prepare a variety of baked goods, including cakes, pastries, and bread, following established recipes and quality standards.
Decorate cakes and desserts with intricate designs, colours, and themes to meet customer specifications.
Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly adhered to during food preparation and handling.
Assist in the development of new recipes and decorating techniques to enhance product offerings.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and work surfaces.
Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, notifying management when replenishments are needed.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely production and delivery of baked goods for events or retail sales.

Qualifications

Proven experience in food production, baking, or culinary arts, preferably within a bakery or restaurant environment.
Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and decorating techniques for cakes and desserts.
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in a commercial kitchen setting.
Familiarity with kitchen equipment used in baking and decorating processes.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
Creative flair for cake decoration with attention to detail and colour coordination.
Previous restaurant or bakery experience is advantageous but not essential; enthusiasm for learning is highly valued.
