Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate out of hours Emergency Dental Nurse to join our dynamic dental team. The successful candidate will provide urgent dental care to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety during stressful situations. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where excellent patient care and organisational skills are essential. The Emergency Dental Nurse will support the dental team by assisting with procedures, managing patient needs, and maintaining a sterile environment. This paid position is ideal for individuals passionate about dental nursing and committed to delivering high-quality emergency care.

Responsibilities

Assist dentists during emergency dental procedures, including extractions, suturing, and other urgent treatments
Provide compassionate patient care, ensuring patients are comfortable and informed throughout their visit
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining strict sterilisation protocols
Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to any medical concerns or emergencies
Maintain accurate patient records and document treatments administered
Support with infection control procedures and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures clearly and answering any questions they may have
Organise appointments efficiently, prioritising urgent cases while managing routine cases as required

Requirements

Qualified Dental Nurse (GDC registered)
Previous experience in a dental practice (emergency or fast-paced environment desirable)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Calm, professional manner under pressure
Reliable and punctual
