About PalTank

Paltank is an ISO tank operator dedicated to the movement of wines and spirits globally. We work with some leading brands, with a team of over 30 members of staff mainly based in Southport, UK and also having team members based in Europe and South Africa.

Role – Procurement Administrator

You will be a member of our Procurement Team which handles all purchasing in the business and is responsible for preparing costings for all our business. The role requires an organised individual with attention to detail who can build relationships with nationwide and international suppliers. The role is to be principally based in our office in Southport, though depending on the candidate’s location hybrid working may be possible.

Key Responsibilities:

· Ensuring compliance with all purchasing procedures to optimise communication within the team

· Maintaining internal pricing systems – our bespoke internal operating software and Excel

· Looking for cost savings on new and existing business

· Refreshing live costings with variable rates

· Updating internal operating software with supplier rates

· Communicating supplier changes to Operations team

· Reviewing supplier invoices

· Investigating and querying with suppliers any variances or additional costs

· Interacting over the phone with nationwide and international suppliers

· Responding to internal requests

Required experience and skills:

· Strong Communication skills – verbal and written

· Organisation and attention to detail

· Ability to work to tight timescales and on multiple tasks

· Good geographical knowledge

· Strong Excel skills

Preferred experience and skills:

· Freight Forwarding or logistics experience

· Rate buying experience

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
