The Role
The Primary Focus of Plant Inspector will also be responsible for off-hire inspections, reporting of damages and liaising with Fabrication Department on repair scheduling. The Secondary Focus of the Plant Inspector is to ensure all tooling is inspected, prepared and made available for site in a timely and compliant manner. The Plant Inspector will support operational readiness by ensuring equipment is fit for purpose, correctly documented, and delivered in line with programme requirements.
What You'll Be Doing
Primary Focus
Complete off-hire inspections, identifying, recording and reporting damage, defects or missing items
Maintain accurate inspection, tracking and asset records using internal systems (e.g. POR and PowerForms)
Ensure all documentation, certification and inspection records are completed and stored correctly
Secondary Focus
Carry out pre-dispatch inspections of plant and tooling to confirm suitability and compliance prior to mobilisation
Ensure all plant indents are processed and fulfilled in line with programme requirements
Liaise with Fabrication and Plant teams to coordinate plant readiness and availability
Support the planning and scheduling of plant movements to minimise delays to site operations
Highlight any issues affecting plant availability or compliance in a timely manner
Promote good housekeeping and safe working practices within the yard and inspection areas
What We’re Looking For
Skills and Qualifications
Experience in plant, tooling or equipment inspection (construction or engineering environment preferred)
Good understanding of plant compliance and inspection requirements
Strong organisational and planning skills with attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively with workshop, fabrication and operational teams
Competent IT skills, with the ability to learn and use systems such as POR and PowerForms
Good communication skills with the ability to report clearly and accurately
