Job Introduction
Portsmouth Music Service is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Guitar and Ukulele Teacher to inspire young musicians across primary and secondary schools.
In this rewarding role, you will deliver engaging and high-quality music lessons to small groups, whole classes, and individual pupils, helping to develop their musical ability and confidence.
The Role

Teach guitar and ukulele to pupils in line with the National Curriculum

Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons

Assess, record, and report on pupil progress

Build strong working relationships with partner schools

Maintain a safe, positive learning environment

Take part in training, appraisal, and professional development

Follow Portsmouth Music Service and Council policies and procedures
The ideal candidate
We are seeking a teacher who is:
-
Experienced, motivated, and passionate about music education
-
Able to engage and inspire children and young people
-
Skilled in teaching guitar and ukulele technique
-
Confident teaching individuals, small groups, and whole classes
-
Organised, flexible, and professional
-
Knowledgeable about the National Curriculum and assessment practices
-
A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
