As Nottingham Operations Delivery Manager, you'll be responsible for the safe, efficient and punctual movement of trains through Nottingham Station. Reporting to the Head of Control, you will lead the Nottingham Operations team while working collaboratively with colleagues across EMR, Network Rail and other industry partners to ensure operational excellence.
No two days are the same. You will bring balance strategic planning with operational delivery, using data, collaboration and strong leadership to continually improve performance while ensuring our customers remain at the heart of every decision.
Main Duties of the role:
Lead, coach and develop the Nottingham Operations team, maintaining an inclusive, high-performing culture.
Take ownership of operational safety and train performance at Nottingham Station.
Build strong relationships with Network Rail, Train Operating Companies, Freight Operating Companies and internal operational teams.
Work collaboratively to plan for timetable changes, engineering work and major events.
Develop and deliver continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational performance.
Lead the local Competency Management System, ensuring colleagues have the skills and support to perform at their best.
Analyse operational performance data to identify trends and drive improvements.
Develop robust contingency and service recovery plans to minimise disruption for customers.
Work alongside project and infrastructure teams to minimise the impact of engineering and development works.
About you:
Significant leadership and people management experience.
Experience operating within a safety-critical or highly regulated environment.
Strong knowledge of EMR's and Nottingham area railway operations and operational planning.
Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
Experience using operational data to drive performance improvements.
Strong communication and decision-making skills.
The ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure.
A proactive approach to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Frontline Support Requirement If you're successful in this role, you'll be expected to support our frontline colleagues at some points throughout the year. This might be undertaking safety critical work, for which you'll receive training, but it could just be helping out with Customer Service when our stations are busy. We're One Team, and that means our managers step up for the frontline, not just manage from a distance. Supporting frontline colleagues is part of our DNA at EMR.
