Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Labourer Solar PV and be a vital part of advancing renewable energy solutions! In this role, you will support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, contributing to sustainable energy projects. Your hands-on skills and mechanical knowledge will help ensure safety, efficiency, and quality on construction sites dedicated to solar power infrastructure. Duties
- Assist with the setup and dismantling of solar PV arrays, ensuring all components are correctly positioned and secured
- Operate heavy machinery including loaders, excavators, dozers, backhoes, bucket trucks, and bucket operation equipment to move materials and prepare sites
- Perform site preparation activities such as trenching, cabling, fiber splicing, and utility locating to support electrical connections
- Use hand tools and power tools for assembly, welding, rigging, and mechanical tasks required during installation or maintenance
- Support electrical work by assisting with low voltage and high voltage wiring, cabling, and electrical system testing
- Climb structures safely for system inspections or component installation; adhere strictly to safety protocols
- Support the team in maintaining a clean and organized work environment while following all safety regulations
Experience
- Prior construction site experience with solar PV projects or related renewable energy installations is highly preferred
- Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and bucket operation machinery
- Mechanical knowledge including welding, rigging, and use of hand tools and power tools
- Familiarity with electrical systems involving low voltage and high voltage wiring; experience with cabling and fiber splicing is a plus
- Ability to read technical drawings or schematics related to solar PV systems is advantageous
- Knowledge of utility locating procedures and safety standards for working around electrical infrastructure
- Strong physical fitness with the ability to climb structures safely; comfortable working at heights using appropriate safety gear
