Job Title: Internal Sales Lead

Salary: £45,000 basic salary plus competitive performance-based bonus scheme

Hours: Fulltime: 8.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Thursday & 8.30am – 4.00pm Friday

The opportunity to make a real impact on the internal sales team's performance.

Job Purpose: Reporting directly to the Sales Office Manager, this role is responsible for driving day-to-day sales performance across Deanta's internal sales team.

Initially, the focus will be on implementing and driving the sales strategy agreed with the business, translating it into activity and results across the team. Over time, we would expect this role to have growing input into shaping that strategy.

You will need to know exactly where the team stands against target, drive daily activity, spot underperformance early, and make sure agreed actions are followed through. Coaching the team and holding people to account will be a big part of the role.

Working alongside Area Sales Managers and Key Accounts, you will make sure the internal sales team consistently delivers against agreed regional and customer plans.

Responsibilities:

Drive day-to-day performance of the internal sales team against monthly and quarterly targets.
Implement agreed sales strategy, translating it into clear activity and results across the team.
Coach, train and develop team members, giving direct, constructive feedback.
Know exactly where the team stands against target, spot underperformance early and ensure agreed actions are followed through.
Work alongside Area Sales Managers and Key Accounts to ensure the team delivers against agreed regional and customer plans.
Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular performance reporting.

Skills and Experience Required:

Essential

Proven track record of leading a sales team to consistently achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly targets.
Proven experience managing, coaching and developing a sales team, ideally within an internal sales or tele sales environment.
Ability to translate agreed strategy into clear activity and results on the ground.
Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation abilities.
Highly motivated, target-driven and comfortable holding others to account.

Desirable

Formal sales coaching, training or team leadership qualification.
Experience within the building materials, merchant, construction products, joinery, interiors or related trade sectors.
Experience using CRM or sales analytics tools to monitor and improve team performance.

Personal Attributes:

Has a genuine drive to win and a hands-on approach to getting things done.
Is confident and direct – comfortable holding people to account, even when it's uncomfortable.
Spots issues early and makes sure agreed actions are followed through.
Brings energy and urgency to the sales floor, day after day.
