Semi Senior / Senior Accountant

Bury St Edmunds, mid-size regional firm

£35,000 - £45,000

An established and expanding regional firm based in Bury St Edmunds is looking to appoint a Senior Accountant to strengthen its successful team. This branch office has seen some great success in recent years and are keen to continue their development.

The Role

The role would suit someone with solid technical skills, who enjoys working across a varied and interesting client portfolio and considers themselves a 'hands on' Accountant.

With an established Bury base this firm provides a secure and supportive environment where you can further develop your expertise working across general practice duties from top to bottom.

Key Responsibilities

This role incorporates a mix of preparing and reviewing accounts and tax work across a diverse portfolio of clients.

Preparing and completing year end statutory accounts
Completion / review of personal and corporate tax computations (SA100 & CT600)
Client Management accounting support
Review and submission of VAT returns
Hands on involvement with client bookkeeping as well as review of junior bookkeeping
Liaising directly with clients and handling queries professionally – building relationships for the future
Reviewing and mentoring junior staff

What We’re Looking For

AAT Qualified, and/or ACCA/ACA qualified or studying
3+ years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice
Supervisory / Team Leader experience beneficial for review and oversite of Juniors but not essential
Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills – a natural diligence and organised approach
Previous experience with accounting systems
You may be currently working as a Semi Senior and looking for the next step up in your career or you may already be working as a Senior Accountant but be looking for a new challenge within a firm that offers genuine support and rewards with a competitive remuneration package.
