Full job description

Join Our Team - Due to the upcoming peak season, we are looking to expand our Production Department team.

As a Grading Operator, you will play a key role in maintaining the quality of our products by ensuring only potatoes that meet our quality standards progress through the production process. Your main responsibilities may include:

Inspecting potatoes on the production line and removing any second-grade, damaged, green, misshapen, or non-conforming products.
Carrying out visual quality checks to ensure potatoes meet customer and company specifications.
Identifying and reporting quality concerns to the Production Supervisor or Line Leader.
Assisting with the sorting and grading of potatoes to maintain efficient production flow.
Ensuring rejected product is placed into the correct designated containers or waste streams.
Working closely with colleagues to support smooth and efficient production operations.
Following all food safety, hygiene, health and safety, and company procedures at all times.
Assisting with general housekeeping duties and ensuring the grading area is cleaned and left in a tidy condition at the end of each shift.

The ideal candidate will have a good eye for detail, be reliable, work well as part of a team, and take pride in maintaining high product quality standards.

Position: Packing Operator - Pack House Department

Location: B+F Potatoes Ltd. Glebe Farm ,Butterwick, Weaverthorpe, Malton YO17 8HF

Working Hours: Monday to Friday

Standard hours: Monday to Thursday, 07:30–17:00; Friday, 07:30–15:00 (early finish).

Starting Salary: £12.74 per hour.

Overtime: £19.11 per hour.

Experience: Previous experience in a factory or warehouse is desirable but not essential as we value a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Operating across several production departments, including washed packing, peeled and prepared products, bagging, and cold storage, we pride ourselves on maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and customer service.
